Talc for Pharmaceutical Excipients

USP talc is an excellent ingredient for use as a lubricant or glidant in the manufacture of pharmaceutical tablets as well as an ingredient in enteric (time release) tablet coating formulations. It has also been shown to improve direct compression and has been used successfully in combination with magnesium stearate to restore disintegration properties. Extremely fine particle size talc has been shown to dramatically improve lubricant efficiency. USP grade talc is often also found in OTC powder formulations.
